Sovereign GPU infrastructure for dual-use organizations

Polar Orbex operates NVIDIA GPU capacity inside a Controlled Goods environment in Canada. Your workloads, data and models stay in the country, under Canadian law, and are handled only by security-assessed Canadian staff.

Public cloud was not built for controlled technical data

Canadian organizations that design, build or support defence, aerospace and space systems are bound by the Controlled Goods Program, by export controls and by the security requirements written into their contracts. Hyperscale cloud providers operate under foreign law, pool hardware across tenants and cannot promise that only screened Canadian staff will touch your systems.

Polar Orbex was founded to give these organizations modern accelerated compute that is operated the way their programs require.

Platform

Accelerated compute that fits your security requirements

Dedicated GPU servers

Single-tenant NVIDIA GPU nodes built to your specification. You do not share hardware with other customers, and we do not run a hypervisor you have not approved.

Private training clusters

Multi-node clusters with NVLink and a high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnect, suited to distributed training and large-scale simulation.

Inference and model hosting

You can serve fine-tuned and proprietary models from a Canadian facility with isolated networking and a complete access log.

Storage and data pipelines

High-throughput storage sits next to the compute. Controlled technical data stays inside the environment for its whole lifecycle.

Private connectivity

We offer dedicated circuits, site-to-site VPN and air-gapped configurations, depending on the classification of your program and the terms of your contract.

Operations and support

Our Canadian support staff hold Controlled Goods security assessments. Change control, logging and reporting are set up to match your audit requirements.

Sovereignty and controlled goods

Built to operate under the Controlled Goods Program

The Controlled Goods Program is administered by Public Services and Procurement Canada. It regulates who may examine, possess or transfer controlled goods and the technical data that describes them. Infrastructure that processes this data has to meet the same standard as the people and facilities around it.

Polar Orbex designs every layer of the service around that requirement.

Canadian ownership and control
Polar Orbex is a Canadian company with no foreign parent. Foreign legal process cannot reach your data through our corporate structure.
Security-assessed personnel
Every person with physical or logical access to the environment holds a Controlled Goods security assessment. Access is granted by role, logged and reviewed on a schedule.
Controlled facilities
The hardware is housed in Canadian facilities with physical access controls, visitor procedures and record keeping that meet Controlled Goods Program obligations.
Data residency and lifecycle
Data, models and backups remain in Canada. Media sanitization and destruction follow written procedures and produce records you can hand to an auditor.
Export control awareness
Our operating procedures account for ITAR and for Canadian export controls, so your compliance team does not have to work around its own infrastructure.
Transparent terms
We do not use customer data across tenants and we do not train on it. Our contracts are written for organizations that answer to a security officer.

Who we serve

Organizations with dual-use obligations

Defence and aerospace suppliers

Prime contractors and their supply chains that build AI-enabled systems, digital twins and simulations under Canadian defence contracts.

Space and satellite operators

Earth observation, communications and launch programs that process imagery and telemetry covered by controlled goods rules or export controls.

Research institutions

Universities and laboratories that collaborate on dual-use research which cannot be placed on shared or foreign-controlled infrastructure.

Government and Crown agencies

Departments and agencies that need accelerated compute under Canadian jurisdiction with documented personnel controls.

Critical infrastructure

Energy, telecommunications and transportation operators that apply machine learning to systems designated as controlled or sensitive.

AI companies serving these sectors

Model developers and integrators that need a sovereign deployment target in order to sell into controlled programs.

Engagement

How an engagement works

  1. Requirements review

We confirm the classification of your program, your Controlled Goods registration status, your data handling constraints and the compute profile you need.

  2. Environment design

We propose a node configuration, interconnect, storage, connectivity and access model, together with the operating procedures that apply to it.

  3. Provisioning and onboarding

Hardware is dedicated to your tenancy. Your security officer receives the documentation needed for their own records and audits.

  4. Ongoing operation

Security-assessed Canadian staff handle monitoring, patching, capacity changes and incident response under the change control process we agreed on.

FAQ

Common questions

Which NVIDIA GPUs do you offer?

Current deployments use NVIDIA Hopper and Blackwell generation data centre GPUs. We confirm specific models, memory configurations and interconnect options during the requirements review.

Do we need to be registered in the Controlled Goods Program to work with you?

If your workload involves controlled goods or controlled technical data, your organization must hold its own registration, and we will ask for it during onboarding. Organizations without controlled data are also welcome and use the same sovereign environment.

Is this a public cloud with a Canadian region?

No. Capacity is single-tenant and dedicated to you. There is no shared control plane that holds your credentials alongside other customers, and the company that operates the service is Canadian owned.

Can you support ITAR-controlled programs?

Our operating procedures were designed with ITAR and Canadian export controls in mind. Whether a particular program is eligible depends on your authorizations and contract terms, which we review with you before onboarding.

How is capacity priced?

Dedicated capacity is sold on reserved terms, usually monthly or annual. Pricing depends on the configuration, the term length and the connectivity you need.
